Steve Parker Reproduction And Growth (Look at Your Body) by Parker, Steve Copper Beech 1998-04-01 076130813X / 9780761308133 Library Binding New Library Binding Grade 4-6-Too much of this book is devoted to pacemakers, vaccinations, animals, and huge full-color illustrations and photographs. While the text is basically informative, there are many distracting elements, such as photos of a bike rider, a kangaroo, and a drawing of a sperm the size of a computer mouse. Some of the illustrative material is confusing, too; the drawing of "female parts" doesn't identify everything (so why include it?); a released egg looks like an eye popping out of some sort of alien being; ovulation is described as the release of one egg but four are depicted. Other books introduce the topic much better; try Joanna Cole's Asking about Sex and Growing Up (Morrow, 1988) or Laurie Brown's What's the Big Secret? Price:
